We classify tourist activities in four categories:

1) Agricultural and animal husbandry related activities.

2) Environmental activities.

3) Cultural activities.

4) Recreational activities. 

Although at any tourist unit you may undertake different types of activities, we classify tourist plans and units according to their main activity and attraction.

AGRICULTURAL AND ANIMAL HUSBANDRY RELATED ACTIVITIES

At agritourist farms you can enjoy farming activities with the guidance of farmers. When you visit and stay at our farms, you will discover a variety of cultures webbed through cropping and raising animals. Rural productive systems can be found at very different environments, from de Amazon jungle to the Caribbean coast; from the cold páramo high in the Andes to the very hot interandean valleys. At most farms, productive systems are biodiversity-friendly, through agroecology, permaculture and organic farming, obtaining healthy foods free of pesticides and toxic chemicals. Some farms are certified as organic farming.

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES

At our Nature Private Reserves you will meet Colombian families with a high commitment for conservation of nature ecosystems and threatened or endangered plant and animal species. Reserves have trails where you can go bird watching, do nature photography or learn to identify plants, shrubs and trees. You will enjoy beautiful sceneries, meet with indigenous cultures and travel by feet, horse, canoe, boat or kayak.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Share with hosts the myths, stories and legends of the place. Traditional cooking, recipes and rural markets will introduce you into the flavors, aroma and colors of fruits and tropical foods. 

With some luck and a good amount of respect for native culture, you may take part in cultural festivities guided by indigenous people, peasants or afro-Colombians.

From our lodgings you may visit local museums, historical sites, monuments, archaeological sites or attend local fairs and festivals.

RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Recreational activities include taking a walk or a bath at rivers or hot springs, horse riding, visiting a theme park or performing sports in nature settings such as kayaking or fishing. In this category we also include those tourist units where beautiful sceneries and the tranquility of the place are the main attractions.
